When You Seek Support for Anxiety Symptoms from Simi Psychological Group
You will learn to tolerate anxiety and go out of your comfort zone
The Anxiety Therapy Process
Therapy for anxiety is intended to help you gain insight into what your body is trying to tell you. Our Simi Valley anxiety therapists are process oriented and work with you to see the whole picture, as one area of life affects all of the others. We incorporate cognitive behavioral techniques to help you gain tools that can help you overcome what’s holding you back.
We will meet together weekly for 50-minute sessions. Typically, counseling continues for a minimum of 12 sessions, but this is dependent upon your individual goals and concerns. Therapy for anxiety uses proven techniques to help give you power over your anxiety symptoms. We also provide Group Therapy for anxiety including a Women’s Anxiety Group, Men’s Group, and more.
Here’s what to expect:
WEEK ONE: Intake
WEEK TWO and Beyond: Anxiety Treatment
Each session is designed to help you dive deep into the underlying causes of your anxiety. Together, you and your therapist will identify thinking patterns that may exacerbate your anxiety symptoms. You will also spend time exploring your life story and the beliefs that may contribute to negative coping patterns.
You and your therapist will work together to help you interrupt negative thoughts and to learn new skills to help raise your mood.
Anxiety is part of life, and when you aren’t able to teach yourself to be your own advocate, to self-soothe, to tolerate discomfort and vulnerability, to set boundaries where needed, or to put things into better perspective, that is when it becomes overwhelming. Your therapist will help you to learn these skills to overcome anxiety symptoms as you work together.
