Natalie Bologna, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Hi,

I’m Natalie Bologna

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist 116782

I deeply appreciate and respect the challenge it can be to be vulnerable. I do not take for granted the opportunity to be a part of your journey through the struggles and triumphs. We are in this together, and I value your courage to seek support.

As someone who understands how scary it can be to take the first steps toward change, I make sure to create a safe, consistent, and non-judgmental space for you. I will help guide you through the process of becoming empowered and confident in yourself. I utilize a trauma informed approach where we will prioritize your individual needs while ensuring you have the support system in place that you need. You have the capacity to overcome hardships by helping build self-awareness and fine-tuning your values and aligned goals.

In working with children and teens, I believe it is essential to make sure parents are feeling supported and that they have the resources they need to help their child, themselves, and their family. It is a huge passion to help children, teens and families build their inner strength and create the real change they are wanting.

All children, teens, adults,  couples, and families are unique; therefore, I do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach in therapeutic work. I enjoy utilizing a variety of techniques, incorporating mindfulness skills, expressive arts, spirituality, laughter, and other elements that may help engage creativity. I want to get to know who you are as an individual and will tailor my approach to best suit your needs, your strengths, and your comfort. Whether your challenges present as anxiety, feelings of disconnection, depression, or otherwise, it is my true passion and privilege to be a helping part of your healing journey in a way that is grounded, knowledgeable, and authentic.

My Therapy Specialties Include:

In Therapy

My first priority in our meetings will be to get to know you as a person or family, and, in order to best help, I will work to establish a secure, trusting relationship in which you can grow and heal. I vow to bring my true, authentic self to every session, as I believe real connection is the foundation of creating lasting change. I will assist you in exploring your areas of competence, uniqueness, and strength and in evaluating the parts of your life that no longer serve you in ways they once did. Your feedback and comfort will be critical to our process so we can identify goals to enhance peace in you and your family’s  lives; you are in the driver’s seat, and I am a guide. I will help you find deeper areas of growth and learn to feel more grounded and empowered in your body, your relationships, and your overall view of yourself. In working with children, teens, and families I make sure to develop rapport and set the foundation for trust and making sure to meet them where they are. I love being a part of a family’s journey towards true connection and success in all parts of their lives.

Education and Background

As a local graduate of California Lutheran University, I earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy, expanding on a previous Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, emphasizing in Child and Family Development. I have a range of experience working with children, teens, and adults of all ages who have survived complex trauma and/or domestic violence. I have also facilitated many process and support groups for at-risk teens as well as provided psychoeducational programs in classrooms through Ventura County SELPA. I have had the honor of working with clients of many different demographics, identities, cultural backgrounds, and presentations, and cultural humility is an essential part of my continuing evolution as a therapist and person. It is always my ambition and passion to continue learning and growing to provide the most competent and comprehensive care possible.
