Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #109013

Hi,

I’m Kayla Caceres

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #109013

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist who inspires children, teens, adults, and families to discover their strengths and use them to cope with life’s demands and challenges, so they never have to feel alone, frustrated, or defeated.

I understand that many aspects of life can be hard but I want my clients to feel empowered and confident to deal with these difficulties. Whether it’s controlling behaviors in the classroom, socializing with peers, balancing work and parenting – I believe children, adolescents and their families have the ability to work through these problems and live the lives they want.

I specialize in treating children, and adolescents with anxiety, depression, Autism related disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and ADHD. While working with these young people, I include families, teachers, and others needed in the process since they are the adults that interact with them on a daily basis and have the ability to influence lasting and effective change. I especially feel it is important for families to be involved in treatment in order to create systemic transformations that will improve the well being of the entire family.

My Therapy Specialties Include:

Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)

ADHD

Anxiety

In Therapy

I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral, Reality, and Family Systems techniques to help clients understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I am dedicated to balancing a sense of support and challenge in treatment. My intentions are to make sure you and your family feel understood and validated while also feeling encouraged to make the necessary changes to reach your goals. I feel strongly that true change comes when children and adolescents learn the skills to become the navigators of their own lives.
Additionally, I enjoy working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship struggles. I am passionate about helping the people I work with learn to accept themselves and see the value in who they are so they can break free from negative thoughts, behaviors, and strengthen their self-worth.

Education and Background

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at University of California, Irvine and continued for my Master’s of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. I have worked on an Autism Response Team as well as clinic and school settings working with children, teens and families. I have advanced certifications in Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I ultimately believe in helping people of all ages and stages of life learn how to manage and cope with the demands and challenges of life, so they never have to feel alone, frustrated, or defeated.
