Courtney Reddick, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Hi,

I’m Courtney Reddick

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist 105731

Everyone has a story to tell, and a unique set of circumstances, challenges, and experiences that make us who we are. We all face different challenges at different times in our lives, and sometimes these become great opportunities to rediscover who we are and what we want. I am passionate about working with kids, teens, and adults to help navigate those challenges and guide you on that journey.  I got into this work because I believe everyone deserves a safe space in which they can navigate their inner and outer worlds, overcome barriers, and be heard and valued. I believe by offering unconditional acceptance and empathetic listening, I can help you find your unique strengths which can move you towards healing and growth.

It takes such courage to open yourself up in search of answers to questions that have lingered inside you for your whole life. That courage is inspiring to me. It fuels my passion to provide an emotionally supportive, non-judgmental space to allow you to sort through the concerns you may have for your life. I offer a collaborative, encouraging space that meets your individual needs. Together we can explore parts of your life, piece by piece, and rebuild it until it looks like the life you imagine for yourself or your child, teen, and family.

I support my clients in engaging in their own life’s journey. In working with children, I make sure to get to their level. I love to have fun and get silly, while keeping the seriousness of your family’s therapy goals and visions at the forefront. I truly enjoy finding  creative techniques for assisting children and  teens to communicate their thoughts, behaviors, and feelings in a non-traditional way. Being able to provide a place for your child to come, let their guard down and release expectations weighing them down is important to me.

My Therapy Specialties Include:

Child and Teen Therapy
Anxiety Therapy
Family Therapy

In Therapy

In therapy, I show up in an authentic way and encourage the same for those I work with. Showing up as your authentic self means you say how you feel, you tell me what you think, you come as you are knowing that you are encouraged to be your true self. Therapy is a place to safely search your soul and connect to yourself and others in a deep and meaningful way. My approach is eclectic, and I use a variety of modalities, depending on what best suits you; I do not believe there is a cookie cutter approach to treating you.
Child Psychologist in Simi Valley, Ca offering child therapy, teen therapy, neuropsychological testing, 93063

I believe in treating everyone with positive unconditional regard and allowing you the freedom to explore the possible approaches to best reach your goals. I believe that individuals are shaped by their experiences, as well as their interactions with the significant people and systems in their lives. I encourage consultations with teachers, physicians, and other professionals to provide holistic care for each client.

Education and Background

I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in family and child development, from California Lutheran University. I gained such an exceptional education and experiences at California Lutheran University that I continued my education with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy specializing in family mediation. I’ve spent the greater part of my professional career working with children and adolescents. It is rewarding to be able to assist youth in practicing new skills, learning new things about themselves and others, work out problems in a safe supportive space and build on their strengths. Over the last decade, I’ve had the pleasure of working as an ABA therapist serving individuals with Autism, behavioral issues, and emotional disturbance. I have also facilitated many process and psycho-education groups for at-risk teens in classrooms through Ventura County SELPA. I continue to work closely with clients individually ranging from young children to the elderly with a special interest in working on depression, anxiety, trauma, matters related to LGBTQ and family connection.
